Students will create and answer 10 original questions using the 10 irregular yo verbs provided: hacer, traer, salir, venir, poner, tener, saber, conocer, decir, and caer. The template for information questions is provided. This practice helps review question and answer formation. This practice can be assigned as homework or in class practice. If you want to make this into a speaking activity, students can also create questions and interview a classmate and write down the responses.

Section 2: Part 2: Choose 5 of the verbs above and write original sentences in the present subjunctive with the following guidelines. The formation of past participles (hablado etc) is included along with irregular past participles. Red light verbs (verbs that take the present perfect tense) are also included. The final section has 8 sentences in English that should be translated to Spanish using the present perfect subjunctive or the present perfect tense. Answer key is included for the entire organizer.

Create 10 original information questions and answer them with the given infinitives in the appropriate tense: Present, preterit, imperfect, ir + a + infinitive, tener + que + infinitive, present subjunctive, present perfect, future, conditional, present perfect subjunctive. In order to have a great New Year, write down 8 New Year’s resolutions using ir + a + infinitive. Your resolutions could be about anything: academics, sports, health, house chores, finding a job etc. Now, work with a partner and read orally each resolution. Your partner will offer advice on how to best carry out each resolution using the present subjunctive. If you choose not to use the present subjunctive, you can start off with an impersonal expression like “es importante” followed by infinitive. Your partner can start off the sentence with “para hacer eso” (in order to do that…) Ex: Yo voy a sacar buenas notas en todas mis clases Partner response: Para hacer eso, yo recomiendo que estudies cada noche por dos horas OR Para hacer eso, Es importante estudiar cada noche por dos horas ONCE COMPLETED, SWAP ROLES

This is a good speaking activity when students are first introducted to the preterite tense. Students will use 20 regular verbs (combination of -ar, -er, and -ir) to form questions and interview a partner with the guidelines below. Combine elements from columns A, B, C, D and add additional words to form questions and interview your classmate(s). All questions must have a different subject and a different keyword. NOTE: You must conjugate the verb. Questions should be yes or no type and can be about anyone or anything. EXAMPLE: ¿Hablaste tú con tu amigo en la clase ayer? Answer: Sí, Yo hablé con mi amigo en la clase ayer / No, Yo no hablé con mi amigo en la clase ayer On page 2, there are lines if teachers want to have students write their questions prior to practicing them orally.
